Getting Started with the Glider Capo
Thank you for choosing Glider — the original rolling capo! To help you get started, we’ve put together a few simple tips to ensure smooth setup and usage right out of the box.
Step 1: Attaching the Glider Capo
Begin by disconnecting the end cap from the top roller. With your pick hand, firmly press the top roller onto one of the first two frets. Then, using your opposite hand, grab the end cap, wrap it around, and secure it to the stud on the back of the neck.
Step 2: Practice Rolling
Now that the Glider is in place, take a few minutes to practice rolling it smoothly with your thumb. It will roll in the direction you push it, so getting comfortable with this motion is important.
Try using the palm of your pick hand to roll it as well—this technique is especially useful when moving the capo back to the nut for storage.
Step 3: Storing on the Nut
When not in use, store the Glider on the back end of the nut, where the strings are taut. Avoid placing it over raised strings, as this could cause tuning issues.
Step 4: Removing the Glider
To remove the Glider, secure the capo with your pick hand and carefully detach the end cap from the stud using your opposite hand.
Give It Time to Settle
Take some time early on to get used to how the Glider moves on your specific guitar. The springs may feel tight initially, but like a good pair of shoes, they’ll break in and adjust with a little use.
Final Tip: Check Your Intonation
For best results with any capo, make sure your guitar is properly intonated. This will help avoid any unnecessary tuning issues while playing.
